The Birth of Omega. It all started with Alpha Chapter,
The Mother Pearl. Less than a month after formally establishing the Fraternity on November 17, 1911, three of the Founders, Bishop Edgar Amos Love, Frank Coleman and Oscar J. Cooper along with eleven other "men of like attainment and the same ideals of fellowship, scholarship and manhood" were selected and formed Omega Psi Phi's first chapter, Alpha, on the campus of Howard University on December 15, 1911.
One Hundred years and over 1,400 Initiates later, the Sons of Alpha Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, come together to celebrate this momentous occasion, The Pearl's heritage and Brothers who made a tremendous contribution to the uplift of Omega and society.
