Over
one hundred and ten years ago, three ambitious students met along with
their faculty advisor in his office to form a new fraternity; one with a
foundation of Friendship and pillars of Manhood, Scholarship,
Perseverance and Uplift. The place: Thirkield Hall; the college: Howard
University. Thus on this rainy Friday evening, November 17, 1911,
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was born. A month later, on December 15, with
eleven of their friends and students of "like attainment and of the same
ideals of fellowship, scholarship and manhood," were brought into the
Fraternity to form Alpha Chapter, The Mother Pearl, our Fraternity's
first chapter. Welcome to the eFrat House! |
